Hey there, it is Matthew Larsen here.

I changed my newsletter from The Lead Generation Newsletter to my own name as the domain (matthewblarsen.com) so hopefully you are receiving this email properly.

In this email, I just want to recap what is still the most transformative productivity hack on earth. It is much better than Adderall and much healthier for you too.

That, of course, is working with a timer for 60-minute periods, submitting everything you did to a work form, and then having a Zapier or something else send a notification to your accountability group that an hour has been completed.

Here’s how it works step by step:

  1. You buy a kitchen timer from Amazon. Any one of them will do.

  2. You make a goal to complete five hours of deep, focused work per day.

  3. You probably should block the first five hours of your day in your calendar (if you wake up at 6am, block until 11am, etc.)

  4. You plan out each hour with a list of tasks.

  5. You put in ear plugs or the same song on repeat.

  6. You work for 60 minutes until the timer goes off. Literally “train” yourself to sit there. This is a skill that can be developed.

  7. When the timer is over, you open a Google form like this (link)

  8. When you submit your answers, it sends an SMS and email to your boys in you accountability group to mog them and show how superior your focus and work ethic is to theirs.

  9. You should encourage your accountability group to do the same to you as every time you receive their update(s), it will remind and motivate you to work harder.

  10. After your hour is up, screw around on your phone or do whatever you want to do for 10 minutes.

  11. Then, get back to it and do another hour.

  12. Repeat this five times per day.

Try this out. It is still the best way to get more work done. I’ve tried everything else you can think of and nothing comes close.

Talk later,

Matt
